For Haein Choi\u2019s \u201csilent conversations,\u201d one must sensitize their hearing, seeing, and also their capacity for co-thinking and empathizing. The paintings are initially self-conversations by the artist\u2014about herself, with herself, and the world accessible to her\u2014but they include us by making something visible for us. What is visible is not the world itself; she does not depict it. Rather, she generates everything from her painting, from her delicate brushwork, her own rhythms, and her sensitive use of color and light. What becomes visible are sensations that relate to something imaginable in the world. There is no contextualization, no foreground or background. The world seems stretched like between two glass plates, but within them becomes transparent\u2014opening a path to the traces that settle in our capacity for experience, where even the atmospherically immeasurable is questioned and brought forth. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Biography<\/p>\n\n

Haein Choi was born in 1991 in Seoul, South Korea. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Hongik University in Korea and continued her studies at the Kunstakademie D\u00fcsseldorf under the direction of Professor Andreas Schulze until 2023. 2010-2014 Bachelor of fine art, Hongik University, Seoul, KR2016-2023 Diplom, Klasse Prof. Andreas Schulze, Kunstakademie D\u00fcsseldorf, D\u00fcsseldorf (D)2023 Meistersch\u00fclerin bei Prof. Andreas Schulze<\/p>\n\n
